However this changed in 2012 when Autodesk acquired HSMWorks formerly exclusive to Solidworks the CAD rival of Inventor. We have previously mentioned CAM 360 on this blog as it worked its way through beta testing to a full cloud based solution but now it seems that CAM isn't just an approach to be based in the cloud but it can be integrated with Autodesk's manufacturing software-Inventor.Īutodesk had previously left CAM on the side-line so to speak as it felt that Computer Aided Manufacturing (to give the method its full name) was the business of in-house developers to integrate with their respective CAD suites. ![]()
